I have a passion for working with children, seeing them grow and reaching their full potential. I enjoy getting to play throughout my day and make a difference in the lives of children and their families.
Areas of Expertise: I have over 25years of extensive experience with speech and language disorders, sound production disorders and feeding/swallowing impairments.
Education/Certification: I received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University and a Master of Arts degree in Speech, Language Hearing Science from Michigan State University. I hold my certificate of clinical competence through the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association.
Specialized Training: I have specialized training in Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMD) and Tethered Oral Tissues (TOTS) / tongue and lip tie (ankyloglossia). I have taken many courses on infant development / feeding to support mothers who are having difficulty nursing. I am PROMPT level 1 trained, and have training in Fast ForWord, Beckman Oral Motor Assessment and Intervention, and in Talk Tools oral motor therapy program. Lastly, I have trained in the use of Dynavox and Prentke Romich augmentative communication devices as well as in the Kaufman Speech Praxis program.
